The Hobbit A Musical Play
Join us as we journey to Middle Earth for a stage musical version of this children’s literary classic!
The story follows a comfortable, and unadventurous hobbit named Bilbo Baggins who is unwittingly taken along on an adventure with 13 dwarves who seek to reclaim their homeland. Aided by the wizard Gandalf, the band faces contentious trolls, goblins, giant spiders, and other “precious” characters on their way to confront their ultimate challenge - the dragon Smaug.

Our first summer camp hosted at Michaan’s Theater was a grand adventure, and what better show to exemplify it than J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit! A show that brings its protagonist up against Trolls, Goblins, a Dragon, and most importantly, up against his own fear.
Watching students overcome their own fears is one of the greatest joys we have as teachers, and the bravery that these actors showed us this summer did not disappoint. Great fun was had both on and off the stage, and the “Thirteen Mighty Dwarves” as well as their ‘brave’ companion triumphed in more ways than one.
