While not actually our first after-school production, The Little Mermaid was our first after-school show done independently of Alameda Children's Musical Theatre (ACMT). It was also our first attempt at a Disney production (our version of Snow White was written in-house by Tyler Null), and therefore marked our first attempt to bring the size and scale that kids associate with such a tale to an Alameda stage. This production featured beautiful lighting, detailed sets, and a number of impressive costume pieces by Gypsy Cat Studios. But far more importantly, it featured over 150 amazing young performers in 6 different classes that blew us away each and every week. At the end of the day, it was apparent that no amount of production value could ever upstage such wonderful, enthusiastic kids, and we watched 14 amazing performances of beautiful singing and bombastic dancing as we were transported 'Under The Sea.'
